DUTY OFFICER - DEPUTY SHERIFF/JUDICIAL SERVICES

Starting Pay Rate: $26.27/HR
General Description: Regular full-time position working 8 or 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights. May be tasked with other duties as required. Must be available nights, weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions:
- Serves warrants.
- Conducts local warrants and injunction checks.
- Signs surety bonds.
- Initiates probable cause arrests.
- Serves subpoenas.
- Answers incoming calls.
- Handles felon and sexual offender registrations.
- Transports prisoners.
- Fingerprints and takes photos of inmates.
- All Citrus County Sheriff's Office employees are considered 'essential workers' and are subject to working in any capacity/hours deemed necessary by the Agency during activations, including but not limited to, in-County and out-of-County deployments.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communications.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be familiar with computer programs the agency requires.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Must be Florida State Law Enforcement Certified.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Possession of valid driver's license required.
- Must have good computer and typing skills.
Physical Demands:
- Meet the physical requirement minimums for all sworn positions.
- Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting and turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- The position requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard.
- Position requires near and far vision in reading.
- Acute hearing is required.
Requirements:
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
- Valid Florida Driver's License required.
