Building Maintenance Assistant
Citrus County Sheriff's Office
Pay Rate Range: $22.16/hour - $29.03/hour
General Description: Full-time position working day shift, Monday through Friday and as otherwise required based upon the agency and division's needs. This position requires on call status and must be available nights, weekends, and holidays.Essential Functions:
- Completes minor repairs, general maintenance and cleanliness of the Sheriff's Office facilities and equipment
- Performs painting, carpentry, plumbing, floor maintenance, electrical, and HVAC work in accordance with standard practices of the trade
- Performs carpentry tasks to include renovations and construction as well as drywall installation and repair
- Repairs existing plumbing and fixtures
- Performs regular HVAC maintenance
- Performs electrical receptacles and switches repairs
- Performs operational checks on generators
- Paints building interiors
- Installs and repairs locks
- Assists with routine paperwork, including filling out work orders and writing up work summaries
- Operates power tools
- Oversees agency janitorial contracts, contractor services and bid projects
- Handles purchasing equipment and budgetary aspects
- Reviews work orders and input data for work order management
- All Citrus County Sheriff's Office employees are considered 'essential emergency workers' and are subject to working in any capacity/hours deemed necessary by the Agency during activations, including but limited to, in-County and out-of-County deployments.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic budget and purchasing knowledge
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Minimum of three years experience with general maintenance repairs/issues required
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have the ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing, climbing ladders, and raising objects
- May require exposure to temperature/weather extremes
- Must be able to drive agency vehicles
Requirements:
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States
- Valid Florida Driver's License required
