Starting Pay Rate: $19.66/hour

General Description: Regular, full-time position working day shift, Monday through Friday and on-call as needed. This position reports directly to the Information Technology Director and falls under the Information Technology Division. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users within the organization. This position’s primary objective is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of computer systems, hardware, and software. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving IT-related issues, as well as assisting in the implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure.

Essential Functions:

  • Responds to IT support requests from end-users, providing timely and effective solutions. Assist users with hardware and software-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and resolving technical issues.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains computer hardware, software, and peripherals. Conducts regular maintenance checks and updates to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assists in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment. Troubleshoots network connectivity issues and assists in the resolution of network-related problems.
  • Implements and enforces IT security policies, ensuring the protection of sensitive data. Conducts regular security audits and assists in the resolution of security incidents.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, procedures, and configurations. Creates user guides and manuals to facilitate end-user understanding of IT resources.
  • Collaborates with other IT team members to address complex technical issues and projects. Works closely with IT management to implement technology solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provides training and support to end-users on IT tools and applications. Stays up to date with new technologies and shares knowledge with the team.
  • Diagnoses and resolves hardware and software issues, escalating problems when necessary. Performs root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
  • All Citrus County Sheriff’s Office employees are considered ‘essential workers’ and are subject to working in any capacity/hours deemed necessary by the Agency during activations, including but not limited to, in-County and out-of-County deployments.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking
  • Familiarity with operating systems, including Windows and macOS
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Must have the ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to assist for extended periods of time and tolerate repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to drive an agency vehicle to multiple sites.

Requirements:

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States
  • High school  diploma or GED 
  • Valid Florida Driver's license required
